Central to Sustainable SRJC is a student-driven, energy efficiency education program that promotes careers in sustainability fields. This approach integrates academic offerings with sustainability concepts and job training, generates actual energy savings, and increases awareness of the importance of energy efficiency throughout the college community.

SRJC’s green projects that impact and enrich our instruction range from energy audits and assessments, laboratory energy competitions, intern-led and faculty-sponsored academic courses, green career fairs, and energy efficiency technology retrofits to classrooms and buildings. Green-focused students work closely with faculty, staff, and administrators to engage them in their projects, spearheading educational efforts that involve the entire community.

One of the strongest statements of Santa Rosa Junior College’s dedication to environmental protection and conservation is the relevant instructional programs developed to educate and train students about the care of the environment, including one of the finest Agriculture Programs in the state. Class offerings range from Environmental Conservation, Sustainable Agriculture, Waste Water Management and Ecology to Biology, Environmental Science, and Environmental Technology. Many SRJC students are prepared by skilled instructors to be innovators and environmental experts in the essential fields that will protect food and water resources and ensure air quality and energy efficiency.
